Sixteen club members took to the green today to play for the trophy kindly donated by our founder Ralph Bentley, back in 1983. The format was four rounds of rinks (2 bowls each) over four ends, by four teams of four players. To keep it fair, the names were drawn out of the hat, before each round. Each player was allocated their team’s score after each match & the winner was the player with the highest aggregated score. This year’s winner was Tony Musselwhite on 20pts. Marg was 2nd on 19pts, with Rod, Geoff & Paul B tying for 3rd on 18pts. Before the comp began, we played a ‘spider’ in support of Salisbury Hospice. This raised £52, which I have matched, so £104 has been donated to the hospice. Thank you for your generosity. My daughters Kate & Jo and I, will be walking the hospice’s 6 mile ‘Midnight Walk’ on 19th Sept. If you would like to sponsor us, please kindly click on the link below. Thank you.
